Doctor in need of ideas
« on: March 13, 2016, 10:47:39 pm »
Lately ive been trying to get a laptop and realize "you know everything I really wanted to make ive already tested with"

So I'm asking the users for ideas so I dont bore myself watching a continuum spin on a motor.

I already have about three ideas however they will be kept secret until I am ready to show what my mind thought of as the Virus themed bot series.

Even just examples or random ideas. I'll build anything least once.

This is also a great opportunity for us to talk about projects and get to know each other yes?

If you want a challenge, try building a bot with flapping wings. As far as I'm aware, noones managed to make one take off or fly under full gravity.

Driving quickly is easier to get into, but surprisingly difficult to do well. Shooting down or docking with an automated drone can keep you occupied for ages.

There should be a couple of tracks in the folder of saves I uploaded that you could build a bot to drive around.

At the moment, I'm trying to make a working leg for a walking bot when I have free time.

Flapping wings? Sounds like a challenge.. Will be doing tests on wings.
Folding wings, easy, flapping, not so easy.

It will be a time user for sure.

Time to make me a little birdy!

I wonder if making a flyer that flies like a fish instead of a bird would be easier?  Those fins acts as if the air is water anyway.

Try making a auto bot that will kick a grenade around. I'm thinking I could make one myself If I can figure out how to make these darn autonomous machines!

Will do cupid! Also about the fin thing I do agree on their physics acting like they are always in water.

I will attempt a build that can seem the grenade and charge towards it

From what I've seen with my own attempts at a flapping bot, adding a fish-like tail for propulsion could take a lot of the load off of the main wings.

For automated bots, it's best to build up layers of simple behaviours. Look up subduction architecture.

I am pretty sure you can do that! math functions can be used to compare strings. There should be some way to check if the camera's detected part matches the string of the part you want.

What sort of part seeking behaviour do you want? You can either link the part in code or show it to a camera and store the part in memory.

Lets say camera sees a part, remembers this part in particular and once it sees it, it chases after it.
This could help create better missles or.. Some other projects I had in mind.

That's perfectly possible using a multiplexer as a memory fed by the output of a camera.

That's the system that my automatic turrets use to keep firing on the last part that entered the field of view, even if it loses visual contact.

Look for the skies, my only hint as to what I am building.

Its origin is rather dark.. But if they could use it so can I!
